College/University Advising
Preparing for university is one of the first important and difficult decisions facing students as they enter adulthood. World Student Support takes the time to get to know each student as an individual before crafting the college list. When crafting this list of appropriate college and university matches, World Student Support considers cultural, social and emotional factors as well as the best academic fit. A World Student Support Consultant works collaboratively with parents and students to create a working portfolio consisting of a personal profile, resume, and practice applications. We also advise regarding campus tours, admission interviews, and essay writing.

More internationally minded students and 'Third Culture Kids' choose to study in the United Kingdom and Canada as well as at US universities abroad. A Word About Third Culture Kids (TCKs)
World Student Support has extensive knowledge about TCKs. Sandy and her husband lived in three countries where they raised two of their own TCKs. She understands the challenges facing these students when moving to a new country, changing schools and transitioning to university. World Student Support distinguishes itself by offering personal and customizing services tailored for each individual's needs combined with a deep understanding of TCK issues.

"Sandy has an amazing wealth of resources. From books and worksheets that will help write those very important essays to people to talk to in order to learn more about what you are interested in studying at university. She is easy to talk to about anything from the best essay topics to your concerns about university. She helped me look and pick out schools; even visited a few for me when her business travels brought her to the same neighborhood. Sandy is one of the key elements that helped me gain entry and settle easily into life at university in London." Taylee

"Sandy is the consummate professional, and she has a fantastic
set of global resources. Access to these resources is very important
when your child is in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program
with plans to pursue attending university out of the country. Her
ability to provide insight on how to navigate the processes of
university applications, personal statements, student visa's and
international health insurance is due to her personal and professional
experience of having lived and worked in other countries. My husband
and I are very grateful for Sandy's expertise as we have successfully
launched our daughter at a university in London." Kyria

I wholeheartedly recommend Sandy Furth as a college advisor. She recently worked with my daughter to gain admission to a four-year college. She took the time to get to know my daughter and spoke to her extensively throughout the process. You always hear about the importance of finding the right school for your student, but Sandy took this to another level. She wanted my daughter to succeed not only academically, but personally. She was inventive, creative and presented options that we had not considered. The college search is an anxious time for students and parents, but we felt well on our way when we began to work with Sandy Furth.Susan
