Having a tough time completing your Common Application? Do you have a ton of questions about the application and do you get stuck on sections? There’s an app for that, and a brilliant one if one may add because it is (drum roll, if I could add sound)- FREE!
The AXS Companion is an open online platform to help students complete the Common Application. It provides resources and videos to guide you through step by step as you fill each section of the application with easy to follow modules.
I would venture to guess that many of you fill out the application in the wee hours of the evening or morning, or if you live abroad, there is no way of reaching assistance. Well, the AXS Companion is ‘your person’ so to speak.
Some background information on its creation. A woman, a colleague of by the name of Marilyn O’Toole created the concept of The AXS Companion and gathered volunteers from The Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) to create the content and with Oregon State University’s
Ecampus, the platform was created.
The AXS Companion can be opened side-by-side on a phone, tablet, or laptop. The AXS Companion contains more than 50 step by step tutorial videos (Spanish and English) walking students through Common App questions. There are financial aid experts providing videos to explain how to find affordable colleges and apply for merit & need based aid.
